At some point or another, everyone travels to Florida, but not everyone does it the smart way. Convenience stores and hotel shops make a killing off of overpriced sunscreen when travelers forget their own. Pack the essentials, and don’t forget to be ready next time you visit the Sunshine State.
In Lake Buena Vista, Don’t Forget Sneakers!
If you think all you need is flip-flops on vacation, think again. Chances are, all travelers headed to Lake Buena Vista will visit at least one theme park or another, and taking care of your feet is the only way to leave the park comfortably. There are large distances to walk between rides and long lines to stand in. Even if you packed those sneakers, don’t feel bad about scheduling a pedicure at hotels in Lake Buena Vista; your feet will thank you.
In Sunny Isles Beach, Plan Ahead with Aloe
Everyone has the best of intentions, but the farther south you travel, the stronger the sun is and sometimes sunscreen lets you down. Nothing is worse than getting a sunburn on the first day of vacation and having the discomfort all week long. Aloe will patch you up quickly, and is a key item to bring along. Before you know it, you’ll be enjoying the pools or oceanfront at Sunny Isles Beach hotels again!

In Jacksonville, Bring a Basic First Aid Kit
Jacksonville bridges the south with Florida, and that’s noticeable in their cuisine. You’ll find everything from “down home” recipes to fresh seafood, all accompanied with deep-fried side dishes and plenty of sweet tea. It’s all delicious, but if you’re not used to eating that way three meals a day, plan on packing your favorite over-the-counter medicines for everything from digestive distress to heartburn. You can buy it on vacation, but you will not want to leave comfortable hotels in Jacksonville in the middle of the night.

In Panama City, Pack a Sweater
The Emerald Coast of Florida has some of the state’s best beaches, but the season here is shorter than the southern tip. Except for summer, evenings can drop to 55 degrees or sometimes cooler. With wet hair and a sea breeze, those cocktails al fresco will leave you chilled if you don’t have the proper layers. Plan ahead and pack a sweater so you don’t end up wearing a sweatshirt with the city name emblazoned in big letters. That’s the only thing Panama City hotels will sell!

In Panama City Beach, Don’t Forget a GoPro
Heading from the city to the beach? You’ll want an action camera for the adventure watersports throughout Panama City Beach! Take hands-free pictures and video of your days parasailing, jet skiing, banana boat rides, and snorkeling. You’ll preserve great memories and even when the adrenaline subsides, the water-resistant camera is a great bet. Each night, you can return to hotels in Panama City Beach to upload your favorite moments to Facebook.
